Public Procurement
Our clients look to us to assist them to comply with the rules for the placing of bids, tendering procedures and procurement processes, the success of which more often than not has a serious impact on their business. Our expertise in this area covers a large number of industries in which our clients, which include joint ventures between the public and private sector, are involved, such as energy, roads, airports, tourism, medicinal products and medical devices. DCLF specializes in advising on the preparation of documentation for the participation in bids for licenses and tender offers, and the effect of European harmonization Directives governing public procurement procedures.
The legislative and regulatory framework imposed on local and central administrative bodies for the award of contracts for the procurement of goods, services, supplies and works is complicated and often unclear. DCLF assists government bodies, including local authorities, in putting projects out to tender in accordance with the legislative and regulatory framework in place on an European and National level. DCLF also advises them in litigation arising from the award of public tenders and issues emanating from their contractual relationship with those companies whose bids are successful.
In the event that a client feels that the correct procurement process and procedures have not been met, our Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice is able to represent them in pursuing the appropriate remedies.
